MESSAGE FROM REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
As the COVID-19 pandemic increases around the globe, we here at UUCUC are dedicated to finding ways to keep us all both SAFE and CONNECTED. Based on direct guidance from our local Public Health District and the UUA,
we are moving to all online services as of this Sunday, March 15th, and our building will be closed to meetings and classes as of March 16th
, to protect our staff and most vulnerable members, as well as to reduce the potential spread of the virus in our community. I know this is a difficult and increasingly frightening time for many. Please know that even though we will not be gathering on Sunday morning, there will be many ways we can continue our great community spirit and our love and support for one another.
Love and blessings,
Rev. Florence Caplow

REV. BILL BREEDEN AND REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
The words of Audre Lorde provide a jumping off place from which we might lean face forward into an uncertain future. Whether by live stream or in person, we hope you will join us as we continue to celebrate life together.
If you would like to share a thought for the Joys, Concerns, and Sorrows section of the service, please submit it to Rev. Florence Caplow at
minister@uucuc.org
. Please let her know whether you would like your message read aloud in the online service and/or published in next week's enews.

REV. AARON STOCKWELL
Annie Dillard once wrote “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” How we spend our lives can also be a statement of our values. What do the moments where we experience awe and wonder say about our values?

DENISE CAWLEY
In this service we will explore simple ways we might incorporate spiritual practice into our lives, little by little. It doesn’t have to be scary or difficult. In fact, pathetic effort is ideal! The choir will be singing.

UUCUC'S NEW "BUDDY SYSTEM" - STAYING CONNECTED WHILE UUCUC FACILITIES ARE CLOSED
During this time of social distancing, staying in touch and checking in with each other is going to be very important. We hope you will consider being part of our "Buddy System" so we can care for one another. If you'd like to stay connected while the UUCUC facilities are closed, we will be starting a “Buddy System” for all who want to participate.
You can sign up here:
https://uucuc.breezechms.com/form/2184f1. Buddies will check in with each other regularly by phone to provide connection, companionship, and connections to help if needed. This is a great way to help each other.

Three members of our church will be honored on April 2 at the "Seventy over 70" awards: Sandy Hannum, Mike Folk, and Dick Harvey. The awards recognize "those who have demonstrated a lively curiosity and willingness to learn something new, an aptitude for personal and/or professional growth, and a commitment to bettering others." Congratulations Sandy, Mike, and Dick!
A sorrow shared by Umeeta Sadarangani
Two beloved aunts passed away within five days of each other. They were loved deeply and are missed by many - especially by my mother, who was very close to them both. I am thinking of all who have lost sisters of the heart.

Max the dog! Master of food filching and connoisseur of butter! Ever the guardian of my parrots, Max took one last walk around the house before laying down to pass peacefully on Friday night.

It seems like there is a smartphone app for everything these days—paying for coffee, checking in for a flight, arranging a ride—it’s because apps make life easier. And, with the current concern about COVID-19, the use of an app can provide a way for us to continue supporting our church even if we can’t attend or if we chose to stop passing the collection plate due to concerns about spreading the virus.
