Dear Parents and Guardians,
As many of you are aware Governor DeWine announced yesterday that all schools are to cease face-to-face instruction for a three week period beginning Monday, March 16 and ending on Sunday, April 5. His specific requirements are listed below.
“While all schools will be required to remain closed to students until Friday, April 3, school leaders will be able to determine whether school buildings will be used and which employees will be required to report to work. Schools are also free to make decisions regarding what alternative education will occur over the period, including the implementation of online classes.”
I am writing to communicate our strategy to allow learning to continue for the next few weeks. For the Dayton Regional STEM School, online learning will begin on Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, according to the following schedule:
Monday, March 16 – online learning
Tuesday, March 17 – online learning
Wednesday, March 18 – online learning
Thursday, March 19 – online learning
Friday, March 20 – No School
Monday, March 23 – online learning
Tuesday, March 24 – online learning
Wednesday, March 25 – online learning
Thursday, March 26 – online learning
Friday, March 27 – online learning
Spring Break: March 30 through April 3
All onsite activities including extracurriculars, clubs and special events are canceled through April 5.
You will receive an email by Sunday night describing grade level expectations for our electronic learning days. Please reach out to your child’s advisor if you are having trouble meeting these expectations.
Families that do not have internet access should reach out to their child’s advisor as soon as possible.
Please make sure that your students keep Schoology free of comments that are not academic in nature. This is not the platform for them to submit questions and comments about the Coronavirus or other non-academic topics. We want to keep Schoology free of clutter so that important academic information and official school messages can be communicated.
Please reach out if we can help your family in any way. Even though we will not be meeting face-to-face over the next three weeks, our care and concern for our STEM community will continue.
