MARCH 2020
While we know it to be true, we don't often have such dramatic examples of how quickly life can change so completely. Just like that, we have shifted gears from celebrating the success of our 6th annual Tails at Twilight gala (more than $200K, WOW!) to considering the very serious implications of meeting our responsibility to the animals in our care while safeguarding our constituents, customers, and team members in the face of coronavirus. You can read more below, but rest assured we are staying open for the time being, closely tracking government recommendations, and keeping safety top of mind.
Coronavirus and Pets
There are so many concerns surrounding COVID-19, but being infected by your pet (or passing it to them) isn't something to worry about. The American Veterinary Medical Association and other infectious disease experts say there is no evidence that pets transmit the virus to humans. You will want to remember your furry friends in any preparations  you're making to self-quarantine, however, and think ahead to who will care for your pets if you can't. Read more.
Making Futures Bright
Create a brighter future for homeless pets all year long by joining our Sunny Day Club as a regular monthly donor. For less than your daily cup of coffee, your donation will become a steady stream of income that helps to provide emergency care, shelter and other vital services until a loving home for these cats and dogs can be found. Join the Sunny Day Club now and start saving animals all year long!
Alternative Stock Option
If you own stocks, one way to turn the downward trend into a potentially positive outcome is to donate your appreciated securities to Valley Humane Society. You can use that increased value to benefit a cause you care deeply about, and potentially reduce future capital gains. For more information, contact Development Manager Will Anzenberger. Don't let the increased value of your financial portfolio go to waste.
