The Washington County Arts Council hosts “Water Warp and Weft” the photographs of Donna Newcomer from November 4, 2021 through November 30, 2021.

The exhibit is available in the galleries and virtually. Social distancing and wearing masks are required for all visitors in the gallery.

According to Dr. Newcomer, “The title for this exhibit is ‘Water Warp and Weft.’ My photographs predominantly reflect a water theme. Nature draws us to the water for many different reasons from the ocean to creeks and marshes. Water also weaves many patterns around our planet as well as our daily lives. For me and perhaps many, the “fabric” created by bodies of water brings balance, perspective, and peace in our lives; as well as patterns that support us in the abstract fabric of life. I hope you will enjoy Water Warp and Weft and find a few moments of peace and meditation as you view the exhibit.”

15th annual AFTA Tail-End Reception and Awards Ceremony

Saturday October, 23, 2021!

It's finally time! The 15th annual Art for the Animals For Otis' Sake Fundraiser is coming to an end!

Coming up Saturday, October 23rd, 6:30 - 8 pm Howards Arts and Frames will be holding its Tail-End Reception and Awards Ceremony! Stop by to get in your last-minute bids, socialize with other artists, and enjoy some snacks and drinks!

Bidding for the auction ends at 7:30 sharp. To keep bidding fair and safe for everyone, Howards asks that only one person bid at a time (no fighting over bidding), and that guests not block the artwork to prevent others from bidding. Howards reminds guests to be mindful of social distancing and give everyone their personal space.

After bidding ends, Howards invites everyone to stick around for the Awards Ceremony! Howards will be announcing the winners of Popular Choice and Judge's Choice, and the winners will be awarded prizes!

Another big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to participate in Art for the Animals this year! Whether you donated artwork, stopped in to bid or vote, or a little bit of both, Howards appreciates everyone's time and effort in making this year’s fundraiser a success!

Remember, ALL profits made from the silent auction will be donated to For Otis Sake!

Skull Drawing Study

Virtual / Adult Class

October 27, November 3, November 10

6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

$30 member / $40 non-member

Nicole Troupe teaches this three-session on-line foundation drawing class. Why is it important to understand the bone structure of the skull when drawing a portrait? The visible appearance of the human face depends upon the shape of the bones that push on the muscles and skin. For this reason, it's essential to understand the bony masses of the skull and how they relate to likeness.

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
