Family Resources for COVID-19
|
Judge Baker Children’s Center supports families by providing vital therapeutic services to children with behavioral health and special education needs. We know that a crisis of unknown length, such as COVID-19, can increase anxiety, depression, loneliness and behavioral challenges and make existing problems even worse. Although
our physical offices are closed until June 22nd
, our dedicated staff is working hard to continue to offer a wide range of services and supports to vulnerable children and families during this challenging time.
Children’s mental health care and special education are essential services in a time of crisis, which is why we started preparing for the COVID-19 pandemic weeks ago to prevent any breaks in service. In addition to serving our current families, we are also welcoming new clients in our
Center for Effective Child Therapy
through our telehealth platform.
In addition, we are pleased to announce:
- Our skilled clinicians in The Center for Effective Child Therapy (CECT) are busier than ever providing therapy through telehealth sessions. Additionally, we’re offering parent support groups for existing clients and consultations for current and new parents coping with the incredible challenges of COVID-19. Please contact the intake coordinator to schedule an appointment from the comfort of your own home if you need support around your child’s mental health.
- Learning in our Manville School continues! Our teachers are using Google Classroom and individual sessions and small groups are being held by our clinicians, speech and occupational therapists via Zoom. We have provided Chromebooks to students who didn’t have computers at home and staff has delivered food to families whose children rely on us for daily meals.
Information is power in uncertain times, and we’ve created a web-based
COVID-19 Resource Page
for families which includes tips about talking to your child, fact sheets, activities, and financial resources. This page will continue to be updated with vital resources during this period.

Introducing The Baker Center for
Children and Families
|
|
We are pleased to formally announce a new satellite clinic in Waltham, MA! Access to the highest quality children’s mental health care will be more important than ever after COVID-19. Construction is proceeding ahead as planned so we can expand our services throughout MetroWest Boston.
This new clinic will bring a whole host of different services to the area, including assessments for various conditions and evidence-based treatments. Our team of highly trained clinicians can't wait to begin this expansion and help more families in need.
We're so excited to share more in the coming months, but for now, check out the progress that's been made on the building since construction began!
