National President
Colleen Orfanello

Dear members, I must admit I'm not a big fan of halloween, but, I am a HUGE fan of the Trick AND Treat concept. While trying to stick with our "BEE" theme, I was at a loss on how to merge the 2 concepts together, so here it is:

"BEE SMART!" Learn TRICKS on working smarter, not harder, and also learn how to make fun purple-themed TREATS!
(I know it's a stretch but it was the best I could do).

For most of us, October brings a change in the weather and a change in our attitude. I LOVE October and get excited about the upcoming holidays. This month, October will also bring a change to our organization. We are going to work smarter, not harder in every aspect of our Unit and Department leadership.

This month, we will be learning TRICKS on how to use our membership rosters to our advantage. Reaching out to members and by reminding them that they are important to us, no matter how active they are in the MOPHA. Remember, we all belong to the hive!

We will also be learning how to save money when mailing postcards, troop packaging and so much more! As far as the TREAT aspect of our zoom call, we will be introducing purple-themed projects to make as a Department, a Unit, or individually.

We will also be giving away TREATS! For all Departments and Units compliant with their rebate paperwork on or before October 1st, you will be entered into a drawing to win either a $200 credit towards our Purple Heart webstore, a $100 gift card to Spoonflower fabrics or a $50 gift card to Spoonflower fabrics.

Many door-prizes will also be given away! You wont want to miss this ZOOM MEETING!

Costumes are welcomed. Your Patriot is also welcomed. There's a lot in store for this month's Zoom that can benefit both the MOPHA and the MOPH!

I'm looking forward to virtually visiting with all of you this Thursday. In the tradition of the "Bee" theme, let's showcase how our members are "BEEing Smart!"

As Chair of the Bylaws Committee, Barbara virtually assembled her committee last week and the members had a very productive discussion regarding the changes that are necessary.
The Bylaws Committee encourages Units and Departments to be familiar with the MOPHA Bylaws and bring any ideas, suggestions, or changes to attention. Bylaws evolve, just like the MOPHA. We value your opinion and appreciate comments.
