PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT - DISCOVERY
Each week, we will be highlighting one of our programs or offering resources for the Radcliffe community to illustrate The Radcliffe Way!

The Discovery department is currently engaged in the third topic of the year for students. By the end of the year, all students will have covered six different topics, switching every 6 weeks throughout the year and transforming their classroom into a new theme. Currently, Discovery classes are all are working on one of the year's Social Studies topics. After this six-week topic wraps-up, students will take down their work and switch to a Science topic. All of the Discovery classes integrate multi-sensory activities into their learning and allow students to express their learning through many hands-on methods.

Currently, K-2nd graders are learning about National Identity, where they are working on activities such as constructing an Abraham Lincoln hat as they dive into the history of our nation's presidents. The 3rd-4th graders are learning about Geography. They have painted a world map wall mural and are working on labeling different areas. In 5th-6th grade, the students are learning about European Explorers. Students are working on using yarn to track the voyages of different explorers on the wall murals they have created. For the 7th-8th graders, students are learning about Westward Expansion by designing illustrated timelines and a large historical map.
