Summer Gardening Series
The Clay County Cooperative Extension Office is hosting a web-based summer gardening series that will take place two Wednesdays a month at lunchtime through the growing season. These webinars will be free to attend. The first webinar of the series, which will be held on May 19 is on Vegetable Gardening for beginners. On June 2, please join us to learn more about Edible Weeds. To register sign up through our Eventbrite pages and you will receive an email with the zoom information.

Please join the Blue Ridge Mountain Cattleman's Association at the Union County Farmers Market in Blairsville this Saturday 10-2 for Beef Day 2021. Cattlemen in Clay and Cherokee Counties in NC are eligible to join this association.

Busy Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are a common sight this time of year and can cause aggravation for homeowners. The large, black and yellow bees begin emerging in March, April, and May and can cause unsightly damage — and in some cases significant damage — to wooden structures like the eaves of houses, porches, and decks.
