National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, Tuesday June 21. It’s a special occasion to learn more about the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and histories of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Hillcrest students will be participating in a variety of classroom activities on this day aimed at expanding our learning, understanding, and appreciation for Indigenous People. Parents are encouraged to take some time with your child to discuss what they are learning and seek out opportunities in the community to learn more about the culture, history, and traditions of our local Secwepemc people.
