Here are some tips on what to do in the yard this Fall from the Nursery and Landscape Departments:
Plant! Now is the time to plant as the cooler weather is less stressful on transplants (don't forget Plant Starter!).
That said, it is also the time to divide over crowded Daylilies, Peonies, Rhubarb, and Hosta.

Time to apply tree wrap! Protect trees from deer rubbing off bark and damaging trees.

Use Systemic Insecticide to prevent bugs coming in with your houseplants and tropical plants that have enjoyed the summer outdoors.
Time to put away your pruners! Pruning encourages new growth and that is not what you want to do at this time of year. So clean and put your pruners away until spring. Let nature do her thing - if plants still have leaves on them, they are still feeding the roots to make that plant stronger for the next year. Don't prune till Spring.

Time to dig up summer bulbs and store for winter. Plant Fall bulbs like tulips, allium, daffodils, hyacinths snowdrops - in their place and enjoy a Spring filled with flowers!

Remember to water your mums daily especially on hot or windy days!
