ReStore hits $5 Million in Sales
The ReStore has surpassed $5 million in sales in 12 years. Net profits have provided funding on over 40 partner family houses.

When Habitat McLean County opened the ReStore in 2010, our goals were to raise money to build safe, decent, and affordable houses, provide home improvement and building materials for great prices and recycle items to keep them out of landfills.

Executive Director Jim Walters is amazed at the ReStore's success. When he considers the bargain prices, he says, "reaching $5 million in sales represents a lot of transactions. It also shows how hard our ReStore team hustles every day."

“Most importantly," he continues, "the ReStore remains an essential funding source for our affiliate to provide decent, affordable housing for our partner families. Thank you for your support of our mission through ReStore donations, purchases, and volunteering,"

In its 35-year history, our affiliate has provided homes for 186 partner families, which represents over 700 people, 500 of whom are children. We'll partner with six more families in 2021. We've served dozens more through our exterior home repair program

The ReStore is open Tues-Sat 10AM-6PM for donations and shopping.
Solar array installed at ReStore
There's more exciting news from the ReStore. We're going solar!

When the ReStore expansion project was in its planning stages, forward thinking staff and board members envisioned utilizing solar energy at some point in our future and designed the building to be compatible when the time was right.

Through partnerships with Illinois Solar for All and Straight Up Solar, installation began April 12. Read the full story here.
