FEI Dallas Invites its Executives to Serve as Mentors in the Financial Executive Experience Scholars Program!
The FEI Dallas Diversity & Inclusion Committee is pleased to announce the Financial Executive Experience Scholars Program for 2021-22. Similar to prior years, the program is being sponsored by Frost Bank.
FEI Dallas has asked its FEE Partners – The University of Texas at Dallas, University of North Texas, University of Dallas, Paul Quinn College, and Texas Women’s University – to submit their most outstanding accounting and finance undergraduate students for participation in this year’s program. Of these submissions, FEI Dallas will select approximately 30 FEE Scholars for the 2021-22 Academic Year.
The scholarship program offers a $500 scholarship to selected students who complete the program requirements which include being matched with a successful finance executive from FEI as a Mentor. The mentor will meet with their mentees at least three times over a period from November 15, 2021 through March 15, 2022. These visits can be virtual or in person depending on the pandemic comfort factor of the mentor and mentee. We encourage (though not required) at least one of the visits to be in person, preferably in the mentor’s workplace to help the mentee better appreciate a day in the life of a financial executive.
We anticipate that the mentor commitment will be a maximum of 6-8 hours over the 5-month program. In addition, both the financial executive and the scholars will be recognized at the FEI Dallas Chapter meeting on April 11, 2022.
To volunteer as a mentor, please reply TODAY to feementors@gmail.com to confirm your participation in this year’s program. The deadline for signing up as a mentor is Monday, October 18, 2021.
Key Dates
■ October 18, 2021 | Mentor sign-up deadline. Please email feementors@gmail.com to volunteer, using the Subject line “FEI Mentor”. Be sure to mention your full name, job title, company, and industry.
■ November 10, 2021 | Kickoff event at Frost Bank in Addison, students meet their mentors.
■ November 2021 – March 2022 | Students meet with their mentors three times over five months.
■ April 11, 2022 | Students and mentors are recognized at the regular Monthly Chapter meeting in April.
