The Second Sunday After the Epiphany
January 19, 2020

"We invite everyone to share communion around God's altar.
We strive to be a welcoming and relevant Christian community doing what matters through prayer, worship, teaching, outreach, fellowship, and service.

We will demonstrate the real life application of scripture, tradition, and
reason by providing a safe place to respond to each other's needs,
hurts, joys, and interests."

Shining our Light:
2020 Annual Giving Campaign

Thank you for being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God.  What a blessing and honor to be stewards of what God has given to us!  Thank you for supporting our ministry and mission at Resurrection and allowing Resurrection members to be beacons of light in our parish and out in the community. No matter what amount you pledge to Resurrection, your commitment makes a difference in the ministry and mission we do. As part of your spiritual discipline, we hope you will make sure to joyfully turn in your pledge so we can continue to shine our light in the parish and in our community.

You can pledge by filling out a card found in the narthex, or the easiest and most secure way to offer your pledge is by going to   https://www.resurrectionsautee.com/estimate-of-giving-for-2020.

We hope to have all 2020 commitments turned in by December 8th. Thank you for being a blessing!

The Women's Bible Study group will meet tonight, Thursday, January 16, at 6:00 p.m.  We are journeying through the Bible with various volunteer leaders.  So interesting!

We will resume our meetings on the first and third Thursdays next month, unless otherwise announced.

Come learn with us!

Our Communion Hymn:

Precious Lord, Take My Hand
By Thomas Dorsey

Precious Lord, take my hand,
Lead me on, let me stand,
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light:

Refrain
Take my hand, precious Lord,
Lead me home.

When my way grows drear,
Precious Lord, linger near,
When my life is almost gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call,
Hold my hand lest I fall:

Refrain

When the darkness appears
And the night draws near,
And the day is past and gone,
At the river, I stand,
Guide my feet, hold my hand:

Refrain

This was  Martin Luther King Jr. 's favorite song, and he often invited gospel singer  Mahalia Jackson  to sing it at civil rights rallies to inspire crowds; at his request, she sang it at his funeral in April 1968. King's last words before his assassination was a request to play it at a mass he was due to attend that night.
Greetings from Dear Friends

Perry and Carol Prescott say "hello" to their Resurrection friends from their new home in Monroe!

Miss Betsy Brien says "hello" to all her Resurrection friends! It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years since she moved to Grayson, Georgia.
Washer Needed for Family Promise

F amily Promise of White and Habersham is seeking a washing machine for our Day Center for the families to use. Ours has suddenly given up on us and the  laundry  is piling up. This machine goes through some hard work since it is utilized by all of the  homeless  families going through our program during their stay. If you or someone you know has a washing machine that they would like to  donate , please contact us! We would be forever grateful!

Resurrection Pet Memorial Garden

Resurrection pet memorial markers are now available for pets who are interred in the pet memorial garden.

Please contact the parish office if you would like your pet's ashes interred.

Squares on sale THIS SUNDAY between the services and after the 10:30 service!  There will be a winner at the end of each quarter and a big winner at the end of the game.  Half of the proceeds will benefit Resurrection's Outreach program.
