Travis County is currently in Stage 4 on the risk-based guidelines. This level recommends businesses operate within a 25% to 50% capacity and those in a high-risk group limit gatherings to no more than two. Non-essential travel should also be avoided. Gatherings must still be no more than 10 individuals for other groups. Please continue to social/physical distance between individuals not in your household, and wash your hands regularly. Thank you for continuing to follow these guidelines during this unusual time.

RM 620 Median Adjustments
The City of Lakeway has continued to work with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) on the recent medians installed on RM 620. We appreciate the feedback from our residents and business community, and have worked with the transportation department to make modifications to the current installation. TxDOT will start work this weekend on a project to modify parts of the RM 620 medians. Crews will be working to create a cut and turnaround in front of Murfin Road along with creating a turn lane for northbound traffic into the Lakeway Commons shopping center just north of Lakeway Boulevard. Construction will begin this Sunday (December 6), and it's estimated the project will take about two weeks to complete depending on weather conditions. The majority of work will be completed at night to avoid heavy congestion in the area. However, expect some minor traffic delays during the construction phase. Now is the time to pass along additional feedback about the medians as we continue to work with TxDOT in anticipation of the future widening of RM 620. Email us at info@lakeway-tx.gov. NEW: Minimize Stormwater Pollution

The City of Lakeway's new Environmental Coordinator recently added some helpful tips to our website to assist in minimizing stormwater pollution. Stormwater pollutants can include natural (grass clippings), chemical (detergents), and litter (plastic bags). It's important to take steps around your property to help minimize pollutants, including: avoiding over-fertilizing; making sure to pick up after your pets; recycling motor oil, filters, fluids, and batteries; and using household cleaning products that are phosphate free, biodegradable and nontoxic. It's also important to discourage insects with good housekeeping, using organic pest control methods if necessary. Click here for more on preventing stormwater pollution.
