Dear St. Isidore School Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I notify you of the decision made late last night by Oakland Diocese to align with today’s announcement given by public health officers and six Bay Area County Superintendents to extend
long-distance instruction through the remainder of the 2019–2020 school year. Click here to view the letter released today from the Contra Costa County Office of Education regarding this decision. In addition, all special events, including Communion, Graduation and other end-of-year activities have been canceled. This is the outcome we hoped would not happen and I am truly sad for everyone, especially the students of the Class of 2020. Please know we plan to celebrate your hard work and accomplishments at a later date. We will have much to celebrate when this ordeal is behind us.

School may not look like what we are accustomed to, but school and learning are not finished for the year. We will continue to provide online platforms for students. Moreover, because this will continue, we are making improvements and will roll those changes out after Easter. Please note the faculty and staff are committed to supporting long-distance learning through the end of the school year and that we have spent countless hours preparing for this possibility. I will continue to keep you updated on our progress in this area. I want to thank the staff for their continued dedication and flexibility. I am also aware of how this decision affects parents and the additional work required of you to support your student. Thank you for your dedication! I stand by the statement that SIS is family. Together, we will get through this.

Each and every one of you will remain in my daily prayers, and I look forward to the day when we are all back together. Stay safe, stay healthy!

God bless,

Maria Ward, Principal
