Update on Current COVID Protocols
as of 12 June
Due to Rising COVID Rates in Hartford County:
- Communion in one kind only (bread) will be offered at Communion. We will return to the Common Cup when COVID rates begin to fall.
-
Masks at indoor services are now strongly encouraged.
- We will continue to wear masks in the office in all common areas, and those who have private offices may request visitors to wear masks. Please be respectful of staff wishes.
As a reminder, there are various levels of comfort in our community with masking, handshakes, and hugging, so please be respectful of others whose decisions differ from your own.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Rev. D. or a member of the Vestry.

Church by the Pond on June 18
Trinity's early summer opportunity to participate in this ministry led by Christ Church Cathedral is Saturday, June 18.
- We'll meet in the Trinity kitchen at 12:30 to prepare bag lunches, entering though the outside door to the kitchen.
- At 1:45 we'll bring those lunches to Bushnell Park, where we'll participate in the worship service by the pond, led by Rev. D.
- We'll distribute our lunches and personal care items following the service, and finish around 3:00.
All parishioners and families are welcome. Volunteers will observe mask and social distancing protocols while working in the Trinity kitchen, and are encouraged to do so at the park as well.
Please contact me if you have any questions, or to let me know you are planning to participate.

SUNDAY, JUNE 26
FUN AND OUTREACH WITH “DominGO!”
WHAT: The City of Hartford is throwing a big party right on the church’s doorstep!
Come be part of the massive street fair "DominGO!". Food trucks, street vendors and various businesses and organizations along the route will participate.
WHEN: Sunday, June 26 from 9 am to 3 pm
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT US? Trinity Church will be holding its normal 8 am and 10 am services that morning. Most of Farmington Avenue in Hartford will be closed to traffic – although cars will be allowed to cross on Sigourney Street at the direction of a traffic police officer. Our main parking for that day will be in the Salvation Army lot just north of the church on Sigourney Street. Parking for those who need to avoid stairs will be available in the Ahearn Funeral Home lot that connects to the Trinity Church lot off of Farmington Avenue.
The Trinity Church lot will not be available for parking that day because it will be set up with tables representing the church, the choir school, Trinity Academy, and possibly additional friends and neighbors. We may also be hosting an ice cream truck!
HOW CAN I HELP? Mark the date on your calendars and consider extending your Sunday worship time to include both fun and outreach. Help with outreach by assisting with set-up or take-down, or be an “ambassador” for a shift at one of our tables. You can sign up to volunteer at www.trinityhartford.org/domingo (Please note, you do not need to log into signup genius to sign up.) Or please call the office and Barbara Roos can assist with sign-up. You can also volunteer by contacting any one of the organizers listed below.
You can have fun before or after volunteering by walking up and down Farmington Avenue and enjoying the street fair!
The beautiful walls of Trinity Church can sometimes feel like a formidable barrier between the people inside and the people outside. The DominGO! street fair on June 26 will be a chance to connect much more directly than usual with the wider community that we are privileged to be a part of.
WHO CAN I CONTACT? If you have questions or suggestions, please contact Mark MacGougan, Valerie Pogue, or Cathy Rowe.

Prayer for Pride Month
by the Rev. Helena L. Martin,
St. Paul's, Southington
God, you breathed life into the world and called your creation good.
You stretched out the rainbow as a sign of your blessing and protection,
especially after times of trial.
God of creation, Hear us.
We pray for ourselves, for all the times we forgot you or our neighbors.
Forgive us for the times we have hurt others, through our own deeds
or through actions done on our behalf.
God of mercy, forgive us.
We pray for everyone who does not yet empathize with those whose sexualities and genders differ from their own. We ask that you open their hearts to your expansive love for all people.
God of love, deliver us.
We pray that you send your blessing upon us.
Save us from the tendency to think we can do everything on our own.
Direct us to others who can guide, support, and protect us—
and help us to do the same for others.
God of joy, bless us.
We pray for the strength to pursue your will for the world,
even when we have to swim against the current.
Help us to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with you.
God of justice, send us.
