Good Morning Covenant Families!

We hope that you had a wonderful Palm Sunday weekend filled with rest, play, and worship. In today's Sheltering in Grace devotional, Dr. Sonju discusses the fig tree that Jesus cursed on his way to Jerusalem in Mark 11:12-14, contrasting the fruitlessness of the hypocrite with the fruitfulness that comes from hearing and understanding the gospel of God's grace. (Col 1:6). We hope you have a great day.

For the Beauty of the Earth
We invite your family to sing For the Beauty of the Earth with Mr. Maurer as our morning hymn for today.
For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.

Refrain:
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the wonder of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale and tree and flower,
sun and moon and stars of light, [Refrain]

For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth, and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild, [Refrain]

For yourself, best gift divine,
to the world so freely given,
agent of God's grand design:
peace on earth and joy in heaven. [Refrain]

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song,  Non Nobis  during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with Mr. Maurer this morning!

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1

Serving our Neighbor

A great way that we can serve our neighbors when we are not able to be physically present is praying for them. Below are some ideas that you can use as a family to be intentional about praying.

  • Take a family walk around your neighborhood and as you pass by houses think about the neighbor that lives in that house (Is there a neighbor that may be lonely during this time? Is their a neighbor that works at a hospital and is caring for people that are sick?) When you return home, take time as a family to pray for those neighbors whose houses you passed on your walk.

  • Take Popsicle sticks and write names of friends, family, neighbors, our leaders, etc. Keep all the sticks in a jar, pail, or cup. When you sit down for a meal, have someone randomly choose a stick and pray as a family for that person.

  • Keep a family prayer journal. You can fold the paper in half and write prayers on the left side and when you see how God answers that prayer you can record that on the right side of the paper. It is a great way to reflect on and thank God for the way he answers prayers.
Prayer Requests

We know this is a trying time for many of our families. We have a prayer team in place who would love to hear from you! Please email Prayer@DiscoverCovenant.com with any prayer requests you may have.
