The archives collection contain approximately 170 items dating from 1936 to 1970, specifically, 2 passports (1936-40; 1946-50) and approximately 165 letters and replies with many news clippings, articles, and other enclosures on political and military issues from the onset of WWII to the Vietnam War.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, George Fielding Eliot was an author of historical naval fiction, a commentator, and military analyst. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Australian army in World War I. He became a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and later a Major in the Military Intelligence Reserve of the United States Army. He was the author of 15 books on military and political matters in the 1930s through the 1960s, wrote a syndicated column on military affairs, and was the military analyst on radio and on television for CBS News during World War II....  Click for more information and photos;

T. Barnum , Booker T. Washington , Frederick Douglass , Arthur Conan Doyle , Ellen Terry , and Henry Ward Beecher. After Pond's demise, his son, James B. GLYN, Elinor (née Sutherland) (1864-1943)
 

Elinor Glyn was an English author, journalist and screen writer and best known for Three Weeks (1907) a steamy romance novel which was shocking for its time. She specialised in romantic fiction which was considered scandalous for its time, although her works are relatively tame by modern standards. Her vibrant romances dealt with aristocracy and issues of morality in society. She popularized the concept of the It-girl and had tremendous influence on early 20th-century popular culture and, possibly, on the careers of notable Hollywood stars such as Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson and, especially, Clara Bow.
