Feathers In The Sand (novel in process)
Meet Aunt Kit
Katharine Joy Gilmore

In last month's issue, you got to meet Jasper, who is neighbor and friend to our heroines Tess and Eva. Today I'd like to introduce you to Aunt Kit, who is Tess's aunt. Aunt Kit was named after Katharine Hepburn and carries a great deal of her namesake's poise, elegance, and down-to-earth qualities.

Aunt Kit has been a professional hair/face model since her early 20's and is now 64. She has been the impetus behind Tess moving with Eva up to Seahaven, Maine and she'll be a huge comfort as her niece and grand-niece settle in. She also owns Coastal Soul, a popular New Age gift and bookshop downtown. Her own devastating loss at the age of twenty has deepened her faith in an unconditionally-loving Presence/Spirit, and she is able to pass some of this on to Tess and Eva as the story progresses (Tess and Eva are facing a significant—but not as devastating—loss of their own).

As I picture Aunt Kit in my mind, she is similar to the woman in the picture here, but her hair is longer and much more silver. Also her eyes are a dark shade of gray, but I really like the expression on this woman's face. She seems to be emitting the same aura of kindness and wisdom that I sense coming from Aunt Kit as I get to know her.

Give-Away

Congratulations to Terri McLeod and she/he whose email starts with waytoomanycats.

I did a random drawing of my newsletter readers and these are the two names that came up. They each won a paperback copy (or e-book version if preferred) of my soul-stirring women's contemporary novel, Dragonflies at Night: More Than a Love Story.

Each month I'll use random.org to choose two more winners. You'll either receive Dragonflies at Night, or another soul-stirring novel that I highly recommend. So stay tuned... and keep on reading! Next month it might be YOU!

If YOU are a give-away recipient this month, please send me a quick email so I can say hello and find out where to mail your special gift.

Stories That Stir the Soul

Godmother: The Secret Cinderella Story, by Carolyn Turgeon. You won’t soon forget this story of Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, Lil, who made a huge mistake in preparing Cinderella for the ball, and has been banished to “real” life in New York City. Honestly, I started this on a Saturday night, and had to put all other projects aside on Sunday afternoon so I could finish it. You will be moved by the story and by the wisdom inside these pages. Highly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and recommendation! In between newsletters, I'll be posting more often on Instagram, my blog, and/or my Facebook Author page, so I hope to see you there.

AND I'm always happy to hear from you via email (just click "reply" and say hello :) I reply to all questions and comments..

Please stay connected, healthy, and grateful,
