What's New!

  • DMCC Programs: DMCC has remote programs to keep you engaged from home. Coming up, we have a Q&A about the pandemic response with the Mayor of Del Mar, a daily Zoom tutorial, a support group, an Internet class, and a weekly singalong group, all happening remotely. To check out what's going on each day, click here to visit our online calendar. Starting this Sunday, we'll resume sending our "Week Ahead" emails.
  • Sandpiper: The April issue of the Sandpiper is now available online here. It heavily features DMCC board member Dr. Don Mosier and volunteer Dr. Frank Chisari, who in their expert scientific capacities have each been advising our community in the response to COVID-19.
  • Protect Yourself: Speaking of Frank Chisari, he highly recommends watching this video from Dr. David Price, who advises us all on the best ways to protect ourselves and what things we shouldn't panic about.
  • Get Inspired: No need to be “stuck” at home – even if you can’t go out to your favorite activities, you can enjoy some terrific programs that will inform and inspire you. The Del Mar Foundation has put together a listing of online cultural and educational programs to keep you engaged, found here.

Plus:

  • Get what you need. DMCC can help deliver your groceries and medications. We also have toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hand soap, paper towels, and more, all of which we will deliver to you, because we want to help you to stay at home! You qualify for our assistance if you are a 65+ or disabled citizen of Del Mar. If you're internet-savvy, please fill out the form we set up at this link. If you have a friend that needs our help and isn't on the internet, tell them to call (858) 792-7565.
  • Learn how to videoconference. Our computer tutor Klaus Gubernator wants to help you stay connected even as you stay at home. Every weekday, visit this link at 10am to learn directly from Klaus how to use the Zoom platform to meet, learn, and socialize.

Please share this information on your social media accounts and as you speak with neighbors so that the whole community can come together as we stay apart.
