Temporary Service Plans Due on Friday, August 21 *
The Children's Trust is requiring all Trust-funded providers to submit their Temporary Service Plan for each funded contract by this Friday, August 21, at 5 p.m.
The Trust will review each plan and follow up with communication of approval or request clarification by Wednesday, August 26. We strongly encourage you to complete the survey as soon as possible. Below are some factors to consider as you complete your modified service plan:
Youth Development K-5 and 6-12
- The plan should address all three stages of M-DCPS reopening plan.
- Services should be guided by participant and family needs, including the special needs of children and youth with disabilities.
- Services should focus on social emotional learning, academic support and physical fitness activities.
- Enrichment activities, relevant for children and youth during this unusual time, are also recommended.
- For 6-12 programs, plans should incorporate youth voice and feedback into service delivery, with special consideration for using project-based learning strategies.
Family Services (Parenting, Family & Neighborhood Partnerships, Benefits Enrollment)
- Specify plan for each contracted activity, as well as any additional needed special supports (i.e., following up student attendance and progress, connecting families to community supports, assessing family risks, offering support groups).
- Include rationale for adjusted service level numbers in comparison to contracted.
- Include recruitment, enrollment and processes for identifying family needs.
- Describe referral processes for connecting families with needed community supports and resources.
- Based on modality (i.e., virtual, in-person), plan for the following:
- Activity modifications
- Outcome administration/modification plan
- Various cohorts
- Rolling enrollment
If you have not yet received the Temporary Service Plan template from your assigned program manager, contact them to request a copy.

Time Running Out to Fill Out Census!
Options to fill out the 2020 Census are still available but the deadline to fill out the census has been cut by a month, until Sept. 30. You can still fill it out online but there is uncertainty as to how much longer that will be an option. As providers, you are in a unique position to help direct families on filling out the census and informing them that it's safe, easy and important. Remember, the individuals you serve are often those who will most benefit from an accurate census count.
