Sunday Service @ Church December 27th, 2020
9:00 AM and 10:30 AM
But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Luke 2:19

Merry Christmas!

When is the last time you stopped and pondered the love of God?  This time of year may be the most difficult time to stop doing anything. It's been crazy, hasn’t it? We cook, we bake, and clean! Then there are the gifts - we look, we shop, we unload, we wrap, and we unwrap.  It’s all part of the Chaos of Christmas! The goal of it all is to celebrate the birth of The Promised Savior.

Perhaps this Christmas, Christmas 2020, is THE YEAR to do what Mary did and stop cooking and wrapping and just stay still, if just for a moment, and ponder God’s love for us.

Today, ponder His promises fulfilled, His mercy and His Grace. As promised, God incarnate, fully God and fully man came for you. Yes, the same tiny hands that gripped Mary's finger hand-placed the stars. Incredible! The same feet that Mary wrapped in cloths on that cold winter night, walked on the stormy sea. Remarkable!

Those same hands and feet would later be "pierced for our transgressions" and "crushed for our iniquities." (Isaiah 53:5). God came for one purpose- to save us from our sins and that’s exactly what he did.

May we all stop today, this Christmas day, just as Mary stopped that first Christmas Eve night and ponder what Christ has done for us and for all people who believe. After pondering, rejoice and enjoy smooth eggnog and crunchy Christmas cookies. It’s time to rejoice!  A Savior is born for you!

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

See you Sunday as we continue to ponder the Christ child blessed by Simeon. I can't wait!

Merry Christmas!
Austin

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Prayers
LORD JESUS, HEAL OUR LAND, OUR BODIES AND OUR HEARTS.

Please pray . . .

Let your goodness, Lord, appear to us, that we who are made in Your image may conform ourselves to it. In our own strength we cannot imitate Your majesty, power, and wonder, nor is it fitting for us to try. But Your mercy reaches from the heavens through the clouds to the earth below. You have come to us as a small child, but You have brought us the greatest of all gifts, the gift of eternal love. Caress us with Your tiny hands, embrace us with Your tiny arms, and pierce our hearts with Your soft, sweet cries. Amen.
