Let Us Know You're Coming to LIC Springs! 2022
LICP's signature community block festival, LIC Springs!, returns Saturday, June 18, featuring 100+ local businesses and organizations, including many of the community’s top arts and dining establishments. Now in its ninth year, the free event is back along Vernon Boulevard – the first time since 2019 – and is the perfect way for New Yorkers (and visitors) of all ages to spend a day during the holiday weekend.

Made in NYC, a nonprofit initiative that supports local manufacturers and makers in New York City, presents an interactive virtual workshop series for small businesses with limited means. Sculpture Park Steel Bodies Opening Celebration - June 9
Join Socrates Sculpture Park on Thursday, June 9, from 5-8 p.m. to celebrate New York-based artist Maren Hassinger’s Steel Bodies, a new, site-responsive work examining the complications of human interrelation and affinity, identity, and collectiveness, through abstraction in the outdoors. Riis Settlement Spring Benefit - June 9
Join LICP Member Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement for their Annual Spring Benefit at Culture Lab (LICP Member) on Thursday, June 9th at 6:30 p.m. The evening will be an opportunity to celebrate their work with friends and supporters. LGBTQ+ Film Screening: Who We Love - June 11
Join LICP Member New York Irish Center and CraicFest in the presentation of the feature film Who We Love (nominated for six Irish Film & Television Academy Awards), which will be followed by a talk-back with the film’s director Graham Cantwell and co-star of the film, Amy-Joy Hastings. June 10-12: Random Access Music (RAM) and the 2022 Queens New Music Festival will once again offer live performances at Culture Lab LIC (LICP Member). Learn more here.

June 11: The Solace Sunrise 5K run/walk will take place in LIC on Saturday, June 11, at 4 a.m. to raise funds for the suicide prevention organization Solace House. Register or donate here.

COVID-19 Updates
As of Monday, May 16, NYC's COVID-19 Alert Level has been raised to High. The NYC Health Commissioner now advises all New Yorkers to wear a mask in any public indoor setting. People who are older than 65 or otherwise at a high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should also wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings and avoid gatherings when possible.
