October 15th, 2021
Dear EAMS Students and Families,
Parent-Teacher Conferences for the fall are this Thursday, October 21st, from 4-8 PM. Families may attend conferences in-person or virtually, but they do need to be scheduled in advance via Skyward. A video tutorial on how to schedule your conference is included here, and the document with the links to the conferences will be available next Wednesday for those attending virtually.
|
More importantly, I want all families to know that Parent/Teacher Conferences are just one avenue for connecting with EAMS staff members. Our staff is ready to connect with you at any time during the year via phone, email, or virtually. Although the last couple of years have been different, it has taught us all how to connect in non-traditional ways.
I want to thank our students, staff, and families for their patience surrounding our student planners that have yet to arrive. The most recent update I can share is that our planners are in a shipping container in Washington state, awaiting transport to Illinois. They will then be sent overnight to us. The company has agreed to negotiate a discount, which we have accepted; however, we will wait until our planners arrive before negotiations begin. My hope is to negotiate a refund equal to the percentage of use lost with the delay. When this happens, I will share the information with everyone.
As items come up that you have questions or concerns about, please do not hesitate to contact me, have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Ryan McBurney
Principal

BACK TO SCHOOL DANCE TONIGHT 6-8:00PM
Reminders:
- This event is exclusively reserved for EAMS students. No siblings, friends from other districts, etc. will be allowed admittance.
- Drop Off will be run from 6-6:20pm through the bus lane at the front of the building. Students can line up on the sidewalk at the front of the school beforehand to keep the car line moving. No students will be admitted after 6:20pm. Pick Up will be opened at 7:45pm in the regular pickup/dropoff lane along the school. All students must be picked up by 8:15pm at the latest. Access to the school will be restricted to staff, students, and registered volunteers outside of those times.
- Admission is $3 and concessions will be available for purchase. Funds go toward PTO donations to the school.
- The event will be held outside weather permitting. We expect the rain to hold off but the evening to be cooler so students should dress appropriately. Bring a flashlight too! If there is rain or lightning after the event starts, we please ask that you return to pick students up.
- While attending the dance, kids are limited to the open areas of the school and grounds only. This will basically be the lunch and recess areas of the school. Students will not be allowed to leave and return, wander on the marsh path, etc. Please discuss this with your child ahead of time so they understand these expectations.
- There will be dancing, sure, but kids can also eat snacks, play various sports and socialize! Bring an extra ball if you have one! It will be a great opportunity for the kids to blow off some steam with their friends.
- Staff will be on hand to supervise and monitor students. All school rules still apply while on grounds, and parents will be required to immediately pick up violators.
- Phones can be brought but use should be limited to pickup/dropoff communication.
Hope to see all the kids there!!!

HERE COMES THE BOOK FAIR!!! OCTOBER 18TH-22ND, 7AM-3PM DAILY
The PTO is keeping the joy of reading alive (as well as fundraising for our school) with the big fall Scholastic Book Fair! We will have a HUGE assortment of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, posters, novelty items, and more! Students will have the opportunity during the week to shop during their English class, as well as before/after school and during lunch. Payment can be made with cash, checks (made out to EAMS PTO), credit card, or Scholastic eWallet. At Scholastic Online, parents can volunteer to help work (we love our volunteers!), send funds electronically through the eWallet program, and shop the full fair assortment themselves online. Any questions? Contact Book Fair Chairperson Mary Robers. *Note: Wisconsin now requires us to collect sales tax for book fair purchases.
