Dear Reader,

I've enjoyed living in Houston since the early 70's and haven't had the "playing in the snow" opportunity before.

And t'was a tad "nippy," yes?

I had no electricity and no water - which is why EntrepreNEWS was published Saturday and not Thursday - so playing in the snow was a fun replacement.

When circumstances give you lemons you make lemonade, eh?

In life we are sometimes presented with unfortunate situations.

We learn to turn them around to create a positive mental attitude and go forward.

I have some pictures of the snow.

If you have some, send them and we'll have a Snow Art Show!"

Or bring them Wednesday and join us for breakfast in the private room at Corner Bakery Cafe, 7:30 to 8:30 AM.

Successful regard$,

FEATURED EVENT
R.I.P.
ON THIS DAY FEBRUARY 24TH
1982
Hockey phenom Wayne Gretzky scores his 77th goal for the season, breaking a single-season record that many predicted couldn't be bested. 'The Great One' will go on to become one of Canada's greatest sports heroes.
1991
A single US infantry battalion and two US Marine divisions cross from Saudi Arabia into Kuwait and begin a push to liberate it from occupying Iraqi forces. Saddam Hussein's army will fully retreat three days later, leading to the end of the Gulf War.
2013
After starting the 55th Daytona 500 as the first woman to qualify for pole position, Danica Patrick breaks to the front of the field on the 90th lap to become the first female driver to lead NASCAR's most prestigious race. She leads a total of five laps before securing eighth place as the highest-ever female finisher. She'll retire from her guardrail-smashing career in 2018, after racing in both Daytona and the Indianapolis 500 one last time.
2019
For her work on 'Black Panther,' veteran costume designer Ruth Carter takes home the Academy Award for Best Costume Design—the first African American to do so. Many of the wardrobe guru's designs for the 'Panther' cast were based loosely on traditional garments of various African tribes.

TIPS OF THE DAY
You've come up with a bright idea and not sure what to do next or you're starting a new business and have already received suggestions but
want a second opinion?
"Recognized as an industry leader and pioneer in small business incubation" by the National Business Incubation Association and as "One of Houston's core entrepreneurial groups" by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and "Ranked the #1 new business development group in Houston" by Houston Proud!

We are a not-for-profit cooperative association of independent
business owners for market expansion, business development,
entrepreneurial education and professional growth.

We were created from an independent research project of the Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's on the importance of start-up and emerging small businesses. We brought you Houston's first small business incubator, which became Texas' oldest, the first co-working space in Texas, the first Womens Business Center in the United States and the first Residency Incubator and first Virtual Accelerator Program in the World. Our clients have ranged from pre-start-ups to the largest companies in the United States! We clearly demonstrated that entrepreneurship could be taught, that business plans were not a requirement for a successful business, that women were starting businesses at a faster rate than men and that entrepreneurship was color-blind and gender neutral. Our start-ups have won virtually every award in Houston for business growth, some nationally, some even internationally and some of our established client companies are now household names in Houston. We operate entirely without grants, gifts, donations or public funding. We don't have our hand out and are NOT your tax dollars at work! We are totally self-sufficient!

We grow companies, build careers and advance ideas!
May we assist with yours?
