  • “Face coverings are not a substitute for physical distancing or frequent hand washing, which we know are amongst the most effective ways to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a cloth face covering could provide some additional benefit by acting as a reminder for other people to keep their distance, and it could help reduce the spread of infectious particles from those who could be infected but don’t have symptoms.” Dr. Sonia Angell, Director of the California Department of Public Health and State Health Officer. READ HERE

  • As of 2pm March 31, 2020 there are 8,155 positive cases and 171 deaths in California. Approximately 90,100 tests had been conducted. This includes the latest numbers California has received from commercial and private labs. At least 31,038 results have been received and another 59,100 are pending. (Per CDPH)

  • Requires employees, agents, contracts exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 to not come to work and to post all Inyo County Health Orders in a prominent public place.

CALIFORNIA STATE ACTIONS

  • Governor Newsom Announces Agreement Between Teachers, Classified Employees and School System Management to Support Student Instruction During COVID-19 Outbreak (April 1): READ HERE
  • Labor and management organizations will work to provide students access to distance learning
  • Governor Newsom also announces partnership with Google, which will be donating Chromebooks and 100,000 hotspots to help bridge the digital divide
