Grace and peace to you in the name of our risen Savior Jesus!

Last weekend in worship we heard two stories of death and resurrection. The first from the prophet Ezekiel. It’s a story commonly known as “The Valley of Dry Bones.” And the second from the gospel of John, Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. In both of these stories, and really throughout the entirety of God’s story that we find in Holy Scripture, one thing is always certain – God’s promise to be with God’s people.

In Ezekiel, we heard, “I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.” (Ezekiel 37:14)

And in our gospel reading, Jesus reminded us, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:26)

As we continue our journey of COVID-19 physical distancing, we are being invited in new and holy ways to stay socially connected. We pray that you feel God’s presence with you in these days and continue to live in the promise that God is with us always. Until we are able to be together physically again, may that truth be our guide.
