An Update from JDJ on COVID-19
Hello,

Hope you are all staying safe during this uncertain time. COVID-19 has everyone adjusting to a new normal while it has led us down an unknown path.

If your facility is operating on a modified schedule or is temporarily closed, it is important to remember a few things when extended closures exist:

  • The refrigerator temperature is being maintained and logged to ensure the range remains within acceptable limits of 36°- 46°. Traceable recorders or a hard wired system are important options to consider. Damage to medication can occur when left outside the proper range. Please contact me if you need assistance.
  • Two recommended options are linked here and here
  • Please ensure the proper alarms are in place to address the overall temperature of the facility.
  • Ensure narcotic security continues even when you are not in the building. Call me if you need to discuss your risk analysis.
  • Expired drugs are identified, removed, and reordered prior to the anticipated reopening. Seeking the appropriate disposal method, based on state regulations, is also important. Call me if you need any assistance.

Finally, JDJ Consulting is operating on a modified schedule. It is important for JDJ to stay financially viable during this time, our patients rely on it. We are continuing to provide medication management services where we can, and I remain available for site visits. If there is an opportunity to continue with quarterly or biannual inspections, please email Madison or I.

We will always be there for you and your patients.

Please reach out with questions, concerns, or scheduling needs at [email protected] or [email protected]

Thank you and be safe.
Sincerely,

John Karwoski
