At the invitation of the city's Mayor, Caring Partners International conducted a healthcare clinic in Santa Cruz Naranjo, Guatemala this past week. The clinic was organized by CPI's National Directors of Guatemala, Helmuth & Olga Marroquin, in conjunction with their home church in Guatemala City, Sembradores de Vida.
During a survey trip more than a year ago, God gave CPI & Sembradores the vision of engaging Santa Cruz Naranjo churches in every aspect of the running of the healthcare clinic, including staffing the Clinic of the Soul. For the past four months Helmuth and Sembradores de Vida conducted training classes for those local churches, teaching pastors and congregations the organization of the clinic, and also a method of sharing the Gospel through the Scripture verses corresponding to the colors of the "wordless bracelet", often used in CPI healthcare clinics.
The results? Five churches and pastors from Santa Cruz Naranjo were involved in every aspect of the clinic, praying & counseling with patients, sharing Christ, and connecting with patients for spiritual follow-up and discipleship. More than 1,300 patients were treated, and 240 men, women, and children made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ! The healthcare clinic was concluded with a prayer service, under the moonlight of Santa Cruz Naranjo, involving the mayor, his staff, the local pastors and their congregations, CPI & Sembradores de Vida, all joining together in prayers and praises for all the Lord had done at Christmastime in Santa Cruz Naranjo - to God be the glory, great things He has done!
