Dear Senior Families,
Spring has sprung in Lakeville, and the campus is vibrant with activity. We just completed our first weekend of athletic competitions and it was so wonderful to see our athletes in action once again. In addition, we've had many exciting countdown celebrations for the seniors and are looking forward to the official "21-day countdown" program that will kick off on Saturday, May 15.
We write to provide you with a brief update on our Graduation plans. With the success of the vaccination rollout across the country, in addition to our upcoming campus vaccination program for students 16 and older, we are thrilled to announce that each senior will be able to invite a selection of guests to campus to join in our Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, June 5. Planning is well underway, and, while we won't be able to host unlimited numbers at Graduation, our goal is to accommodate as many guests as we possibly can. In order to do so, we need you to complete this registration estimate survey no later than Friday, April 23. We will reach out in early May to confirm final guest counts and provide additional details about the overall celebration. For other important details, please consult our Graduation FAQ webpage which will continue to be updated as plans are finalized.
Given the uncertainty of the pandemic and the risks associated with large gatherings, we have chosen an event that focuses on seniors and their families rather than an event that includes the other three classes. Knowing that the seniors will want to spend time with younger students in the days leading up to Graduation, we have several events planned including a campus celebration on June 2 that will include a last clap and a student gauntlet for the seniors and our retiring faculty to walk. Please be on the lookout for pictures and videos on the Flickr account!
Finally, we would also like to remind you to participate in the Senior Family Digital Boom as the deadline is fast approaching. A Digital Boom is a collection of personal, custom-designed digital cards whose effect is - BOOM! - emotional and unforgettable. It is our hope that each family participates by contributing one baby picture and note to their senior and the class in general. Upon completion, the students will receive a link to their Digital Boom, which they will be able to download and keep as a special Hotchkiss memory. Participation is quick and easy. Please upload your photo and note directly to the BoomBox website via this link, or email your photo and note to Lisa Brown by Saturday, May 1, 2021.
