The Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools Calendar has been released: 2021-2022 MACS Calendar

Collection for Catholic Schools Week: As a school wide service project for Catholic Schools Week, we will be collecting toiletries for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry to distribute to the community. Items may be left in the hallway outside of the Campus Ministry office Monday, February 1 - Wednesday, February 3. Thank you in advance for your generosity. We will be collecting:
  • Soap
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Shampoo
  • Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
  • Body wash
  • Deodorant

Parishioners of St. Gabriel Catholic Church: Please see important information from Fr. Construction update: The Little Avenue entrance will be closed due to construction of the Fine Arts Center as of Monday, January 25. All traffic entering campus will use the Highway 51 (Pineville-Matthews Road) entrance or the Walsh Boulevard entrance. Traffic exiting via Little Avenue will now be redirected behind the visitors’ side of the stadium and to Walsh Boulevard.

AP Course Applications for Rising Juniors and Seniors: In order to enroll in an AP course for the 2021-2022 school year, students must submit an AP application. Please review the AP Application Procedure and AP Course Descriptions and Prerequisites on the counseling page of the website. 
  • All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, January 27. Students must be logged into their CCHS email to access the form through this link:  AP Application 2021-2022

AP Art and Honors Art Portfolio Prep: Students who wish to take Honors Portfolio Prep or AP Studio Art next school year (2021-2022) need to submit a portfolio for review in order to be recommended for the class. The portfolio requirements are listed on the Visual Arts page. Portfolios should be submitted in a digital slideshow format by email to Melissa McManus by February 5, Students and parents can contact Ms. McManus by email:  melissa.mcmanus@cchsemail.org

Sophomore Parent Program: Thank you to those who attended the sophomore parent program on Friday, January 22. SAT PREP ZOOM CLASS: CCHS offers a class in preparation for the March 13 SAT given at CCHS. The class will be held February 13, 20, 27, and March 6 from 8:30-12:30. The fee for the class is $100.00. To register for the class visit the online school store before the deadline of Thursday, February 11. The student must also purchase a NEW 2020 edition of The Official SAT Study Guide with 8 Real Tests ISBN: 978-1457312199 from any source. The virtual classes will be taught by Mrs. Yarussi from the Math department and Mr. Kuhn from the English department for 2 hours each. If you need to miss one of the 4 classes please contact the teachers for materials missed. You will receive an email from the teachers with a zoom link for the class. The student must register for the SAT at CollegeBoard.org if you plan on taking the test on March 13. Seniors: Please provide a copy of information regarding any scholarships earned to your counselor. These scholarships will be noted one time in the Catholic Daily on Fridays and the Graduation Program. The name of the scholarship and the school that awarded it will be recognized. The actual dollar amount is not made public though is noted as part of the class total at the end of the school year.

Campus Ministry

Pro-Life Day(s): Due to our current hybrid schedule, we will have Pro-Life Days this Thursday and Friday. The hope is that this will begin an annual tradition that helps nurture a culture of life amongst our community. This will include more time of prayer for our community for the cause of life and an end to abortion, a diaper drive for MiraVia, and more! Unless your student has elected full remote learning or is a temporarily remote learner, students must be on campus in school.

  • All remote learning is allowed for students who have elected for the full semester of remote learning.
  • Temporary remote learning is for students who have been notified that they are under a school-mandated quarantine OR for students whose parents have requested and been granted permission due to exposure or an extenuating circumstance.   • All other students will be marked absent if they are not in school in person.

Instruction time will end at 2:19 PM, however end of day prayer and announcements will begin then, followed by a staggered dismissal. Plans for afternoon carpool and transportation will not change. Students will not begin extracurricular activities before 2:35.
Carpool and Parking Information
The paved and gravel lots are closed for pre-construction work.
There is no parking in these lots this year.

COVID-19 Information
As of the sending of today's Catholic Daily, there are nine current reported positive cases of Covid-19 among Charlotte Catholic students.

If your child has been in close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or greater) with any student or staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19, you will be notified directly by the school and/or the appropriate government authority. We will continue to keep you informed.

Visitor Policy
To ensure the health and safety of our school community, we remind our community of our current policy regarding visitors: No visitors, including parents, alumni and volunteers will be allowed inside the main school buildings until further notice without an appointment. This includes Masses. Those with an appointment must be screened.
