Tales of Snakes Slither by Aaron Roomsburg
  1. There are people that have to run across the gym.
  2. One person is the snake. That person has to lay on his tummy.
  3. When the people say, "Snakes slither, don't let them bite," then the people have to run across the gym to the other side. The snake has to army crawl and tag people.
  4. If someone gets tagged, he has to do 20 jumping jacks. Then the next round, he is a snake and needs to sneak up on someone who is not looking. He can stand up, but the snake that army crawls still army crawls.

Girls Who Code by Ali and Kayl
Girls Who Code is a club that the school has created for girls. Girls can code too. There is a little bit of girls who grow up to code and a bunch of boys.
Coding happens when there is an input, a process, and an output. This is like when you put pizza in the oven. The input is turning the heat on. The process is the pizza cooking and the output is you get a scrumptious, mouth-watering pizza.
If you are not cooking food you can do this with Scratch on your devices. We are learning how to code. We put in the coding blocks and get the output we want. We can code sounds, sizes, characters, movement, and so much more.
There are other things to do in Girls Who Code. We make friends with people from different hallways. We do sisterhood activities which is like morning meeting. We have cool nicknames like All Star Ali, Kind Hearted Kayl, and Jolly Jayla. We have snack, and we read Girls Who Code books.
Now you know a little bit about what we do in Girls Who Code. We hope you will go on Scratch and code like us!

(Editor's Note: Girls Who Code is an afterschool activity at Hayshire.)

Second Graders Spreading Kindness
The learners in Mrs. Blankenstein's classroom are spreading kindness by making blankets for dogs and cats at the SPCA. They collected food and supplies for the animals too! Mrs. Eisenhart visited the classroom to teach them how to tie knots and make the blankets. What caring hearts our children have!!!!

Big MACS Sharing Kindness!
Our grade 2-3 multi-age learners collected books for the Panther Pantry! Learners made announcements to encourage donations over the PA system in school. They collected 673  books! Wow! They were surprised that so many books were donated! What a wonderful caring way to help others!
