The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is allocating $86.75 million in funding to the West Valley Connector, a 100% zero-emission Bus Rapid Transit system that will link Ontario International Airport, two Metrolink lines and multiple activity centers from Pomona to Rancho Cucamonga.

The funding, announced Monday by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, is through the FTA’s Capital Investment Grants (CIG) Small Starts program and will cover one-third of the Connector’s estimated $262.67 million Phase One capital cost.
As construction continues on the future SB Express Lanes, 55-hour directional I-10 freeway closures and I-10/I-15 connector closures will occur over the next several months. These closures, throughout the project corridor between the Los Angeles/San Bernardino County Line and I-15, are necessary for crews to remove and repave portions of the freeway.

This past weekend there was a 55-hour directional freeway closure on eastbound I-10 between Monte Vista Avenue and Central Avenue. Beginning in late April, the I-10/I-15 connectors will be closed for 55-hours for four weekends in a row.
To ensure that SBCTA is being as cost effective as possible for Measure I taxpayer dollars and to provide accessibility for all levels of contractors, SBCTA staff is conducting an analysis of its current procurement insurance requirements.

A certain level of insurance is required for all vendors that provide services to SBCTA, based on the level of risk to the activity the vendor provides. This ensures taxpayer dollars are protected in the event of an incident caused by the vendor during performance of their services.
The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) operates the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) Program. FSP consists of a fleet of tow trucks that travel on selected San Bernardino County freeways during peak periods of congestion to assist motorists with their disabled vehicles. The FSP program has demonstrated many benefits to the motoring public by reducing the amount of time a motorist is in an unsafe condition, reducing traffic congestion, as well as decreasing fuel consumption, vehicle emissions, and secondary incidents.

On April 7th, the Board then recognized the following FSP drivers for their high level of professionalism and excellent customer service provided to stranded motorists along our freeways.
