School Bus Safety: Stop Means Stop!
Did you know that the greatest risk to a child isn't riding a bus, but approaching or leaving one. STOP means STOP! As you'll see in this video, it's just not a bus you're stopping for, it's a bus full of students.

2020 Census
Every 10 years, the United States Census Bureau undertakes a mammoth task: counting all the people residing in the United States. This count affects the allocation of funding for our community's public resources (e.g., roads, hospitals, schools), how we plan for the future, and our voice in government. Learn more about the importance of the #2020Census and how to participate: 2020census.gov.

Alternative Learning Days
We have had a mild winter so far, but who knows what is up ahead?

Monroe County Schools Board of Education, administration, and staff believe continuity of instruction in the event of the loss of an instructional day, due to weather or other circumstances, is a critical component to our students' success. Therefore, our schools will provide the opportunity for students to continue to engage in learning on days when school is called off. Students will engage in Alternative Learning Days through reading traditional books, traditional "at home" paper-based assignments, and through use of personal devices, Google Classroom, email, and other electronic and digital media to ensure uninterrupted instruction. Click here for more information on alternative learning days. For access to Alternative Learning Day assignments, click here

Parents, this is also a great time  update contact information - cell numbers, emergency contacts. You can call your school registrar to update info.

A Message from Monroe County Schools Nurses: Buckle Up for Safety
Buckle up the kiddos every trip, every time. Children in Georgia are required to be properly buckled in a car seat or booster seat appropriate for their height/weight until the age of 8. Children 12 and under should still ride in the back seat.
