SAINT THERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS

"Only" a young saint, since she died when she was just 24; the saint of simplicity and love; the saint of trusting abandonment to God's will. These are the qualities that make Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus so dear to the hearts of today's young people, as the large number of them who came to Paris attested, and as the Pope said when he announced the imminent proclamation of Theresa of Lisieux as a Doctor of the Church. --Vatican.va

O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose
from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love.

O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors
I now place with confidence in your hands . .

(mention in silence here)

St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did in
God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your “Little Way” each day.

Amen

REMINDER: Mental Health Series Begins

It will cover self-care strategies to prevent burnout and help people gauge where they’re currently at in different areas of their life (emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, relationally, and financially) to help them discover what areas are out of balance and may be contributing to burnout.
This series is free to all Catholic School principals and guidance counselors.

The booklet can be used for classrooms, youth groups, communities, or parishes, so if you’re a teacher, catechist, parent, teen, faith sharing group, ministry, or someone who has a heart for serving others, check out these incredible projects and find out how you can become a part of their story!

Worth Repeating
Pray the Rosary October 13
As we previously shared, there will be a diocesan wide Catholic School rosary October 13th at 9:00 am for the salvation of our world. If you would like to add specific intentions for your school, please feel free to do so. We recommend having students gather in the church. Please consider inviting parents, grandparents and parishioners to join you at the church. You may even want to live stream it if your parish has the capabilities. If that is not possible because of space, a group of students can lead it over your school sound system.

We have created a flyer for you to use to communicate this event within your school and parish. Please download it HERE.

Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention Workshop
CESA 6 is offering a crisis response training November 1 and 2. This is the model that Xavier uses as part of our membership in a local consortium of schools that help each other respond to situations like a death of a student/parent/teacher. Here is a link to that training. The cost is $295 per participant. This is a great opportunity to build a network of people to help one another.

This course will provide participants with knowledge, protocols and materials designed to facilitate

  • competent, thorough and proactive pre-incident (traumatic event) preparation,
  • subsequent day (after students and staff have returned to school) deployment of crisis response team members and management of the building response, and
  • familiarity with a variety of intervention strategies and documents specifically designed to strengthen building response following a traumatic event.
Save the Date: All Schools Mass
