Possible Snow Day

It looks like we may finally get some snow next week! AMEN!!! We watch the weather closely the evening before and in the wee hours of morning before school starts. This year, we hope not to have any delays. If most of Reno looks safe, we will open school on time and allow any family or student who feels they are not safe traveling to access our virtual education until they feel they are safe to drive (or for the day). If travel is treacherous everywhere and/or we cannot get our grounds to safety standards in time for school to start, we will delay school until 9:00 am. The schedule for a delay is below. If there continues to be too much snow to keep our grounds safe, we will move to a full virtual day. The schedule for a full virtual day is also below.  All calls delaying school or moving to a full virtual day will be made by 5:30 am. Please make sure you have opted in to our text/phone/email alert system. We will also post information on our website and local news channels. Have a wonderful weekend Miners!

PSAT Reminder

Tuesday, 1/26 is PSAT day! All the students not taking the exam will be virtual. Students in the PSAT will be marked accordingly on their attendance. This day will be a 2:18 pm release.

Free Therapy Through Talkspace

The City of Reno has made it possible for residents ages 13+ to receive private mental health support from Talkspace at no charge. Send unlimited text, voice, and video messages﹣ anytime, anywhere. Your dedicated therapist will engage daily, 5 days per week. Monthly video appointments and self-help exercises are also available.‍ You must complete the form linked below to request access. Talkspace will validate your eligibility, and after, send a custom registration link to the email address provided. You can expect this email within 1-2 business days of completing the form. This information will be required to register under the Reno program. To request access information, please complete this form.

Athletics
Off-Season Schedule

Off-season activities for Football, Girls and Boys Soccer, Softball, Baseball, and Girls and Boys Lacrosse will begin the week of January 18.  VIEW THE SCHEDULE HERE.

Campus Ministry
Wednesday Mass

In addition to Monday morning Mass at 7:15 am, there will also be a Wednesday weekly Mass after school at 2:30 pm. All students and staff are welcome to both.
Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week is February 1st - 5th. The week will include events and dress-up days! Be on the lookout for more information to come! 
Retreats

Retreats are still on pause until further notice. We are praying they can resume in early spring! 

Service Opportunities
Speech and Debate Judges

Speech and Debate needs volunteers for a virtual tournament the week of 1/25-1/30. All judging is done online (so you can be in the comfort of your own home!). There are options to judge on your own terms by watching videos that have been uploaded, or you can judge live events on Friday and Saturday.

Adoration

Campus mInistry is looking for parent volunteers for all-day adoration on February 4th. You can sign up for half-hour or one-hour shifts starting at 8 am and going until 2 pm. Please contact allison.klekas@bishopmanogue.org if you would like to sign up. 
Parent Volunteers Needed for Lunch Duty

Greg in the cafeteria is in desperate need of coverage for breaks Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (9:20 - 9:40 a.m.) and lunches Monday and Wednesday (11:00 - 12:53)
Remember, the Diocese of Reno has mandatory requirements for volunteering at all Diocesan schools, including Bishop Manogue, and you cannot earn service hours until those requirements have been met. Contact Bonnie Hansen at  bonnie.hansen@bishopmanogue.org  or 775-336-6000 with questions.

Parents will have to enroll in Protecting God's Children through Virtus and stay up to date on monthly bulletins for two years. After the two years, you have completed all the necessary bulletins. This transfers over from any of the Diocesan schools. If you are still receiving bulletins after two complete years, contact Elda Juarez at  eldaj@catholicreno.org  to be removed from the update list.
