Did you know... SCRA has been quite busy the last few months. Lots of activity has been happening in the life of our organization and throughout our state.We have several exciting things to share with you and hope you enjoy the first of our new newsletter issues.
In January 2020, we released our Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 Annual Report. During FY19, SCRA played a major role in boosting jobs and technology-related businesses in South Carolina with 2.9% technology sector job growth and an impact of $694.38 million on the overall innovation economy.

In FY19, SCRA awarded $2.77 million in funds through our SC Academic Innovations, SC Launch and SC Ventures grants. In addition, SC Launch Client Companies received $2.7 million in investments from SCRA’s affiliate, SC Launch, Inc. SC Launch Client Companies that had previously received grants and investments went on to receive $135.83 million in follow-on-funding in FY19. Read more and download report

SC Facilities Update
SCRA has leased all of its 20,000 square feet of commercial space in the nearly completed building known as 22 WestEdge to Vikor Scientific, a medical diagnostics and life sciences company. Watch our web and social media for information about a grand opening celebration this Spring.

SC Ventures attended the Global Corporate Venturing and Innovation (GCVI) Summit in California to meet and understand corporate investors investment targets. Corporate venture investors offer great strategic value as well as financial resources for South Carolina companies. The GCVI Summit provides over 800 corporate venture capitalists, corporate strategy executives, C-level innovation officers and corporate development executives with ways to maximize innovation strategy business practices and drive strategic investment opportunities.
IPF Continuing Education Event. On January 29, SCRA hosted The Innovation Economy in 2020: Opportunities and Challenges , a free one-hour CLE/CPE credit opportunity in Greenville. SCRA Gives Back. In addition to supporting the innovation economy, SCRA employees also support their local communities. Over the holidays, employees gave blankets to a local charity and made a family’s Christmas wishes come true through Ronald McDonald House Charities.
