Los Rios Virtual Career Fair
You are invited to join us for the Los Rios Virtual Career Fair on Wednesday, April 6 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Employers will host one-on-one appointments and group sessions via Handshake, Los Rios’ online job and internship platform, to discuss available jobs and internships. All Los Rios students and alumni are welcome. 

How to prepare for the Career Fair:
  1. Log in to Handshake and complete your profile
  2. Upload your resume
  3. Register for the Career Fair
  4. Research the companies and employers that will be at the Fair
  5. Attend the “Preparing for a Career Fair” workshop on Thursday, March 31, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm via Zoom (register in advance) to learn how to prepare for and navigate the Career Fair. Get tips and advice on how to make the best first impressions with recruiters.

Women’s History Month

Join us as students from CRC’s English Literature II, Shakespeare and Film, and Women in Literature classes explore through Padlet presentations how women’s identities have been shaped by societal expectations and how they used wit and writing to find hope and healing.

Wednesday, March 30, 1:00 to 2:00 pm
Author Jim Kristofic will present as part of the State of Arizona Research Library’s 2022 Arizona Author Series.

Thursday, March 31, 3:00 to 4:30 pm
Join the FLC Equity Center for this virtual, interactive writing workshop led by educator and author Marianna Sousa.
Distinguished Service Award 2022
Are you graduating or transferring at the end of the academic year? Have you demonstrated a commitment to serving the SCC community or your community at large? Apply for the Distinguished Service Award!

The Distinguished Service Award is one of the most prestigious awards offered at Sacramento City College and dates back to the early years of the college. Two students will be selected.

This award comes with a $1,500 scholarship. Recipients will be honored in various ways including on the SCC website and on social media.
Pride Center Paint Night

Green Table Talk
SCC’s Sustainability and Environmental Club hosts a Green Table Talk with the Environmental Council of Sacramento (ECOS) on March 31 at 5:30 PM. The ECOS has been a powerful advocacy group in the Sacramento region for more than 50 years. Cal Grant Priority Deadline Extended!
The Cal Grant priority deadline of March 2 has been extended to Friday, April 1. Students should submit their 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) applications now! The Financial Aid office is ready to help students who need assistance.
Developing an Effective Job Search Plan
Everyone is unique and no two job searches are the same. Your job search is your own, and, yet, in today’s complicated job market, there are common strategies that are proven to work. In this Friday, April 1 workshop at noon you will learn basic strategies that should anchor your job search including:
  • How to be intentional
  • Where to search for opportunities
  • What to include in your application packet
The Truth About Law School
You are invited to “The Truth About Law School” on Monday, April 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm via Zoom with guest speaker and Folsom Lake College alum Malina Dunk Walker. Malina is a third-year law student and Kennedy Scholar at McGeorge School of Law and she will be sharing her experiences, insights, and tips with students interested in the legal profession. “Law is a truly powerful and transformational profession but school is profoundly challenging, so I am happy to support interested students,” Malina shares. This session will be a presentation/discussion format followed by a Q&A session.
César Chávez Day
On Thursday, March 31 we celebrate and reflect on the life and legacy of César Chávez. Chávez made a lasting impact on America’s farmworkers through his work as a labor leader and civil rights activist. This holiday promotes community service in honor of Chávez's life and work.
