Retailers announce opening dates for first stores in Arizona
Scheels, one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the country, has confirmed the opening date for its first store in Arizona. Located at the Chandler Fashion Center, the store is currently under construction and will take over/expand the former Nordstrom space. Scheels will open this fall on Saturday, Sep. 30, 2023.

Expected to become a regional destination for outdoor enthusiasts, sports fans, and families, Scheels will include 75 specialty shops, a 45-foot indoor Ferris wheel, 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, a wildlife mountain, Fuzziwig's Candy Factory, Rollerball, and other attractions.

Daiso, a Japanese discount retailer, will open its first Arizona store this weekend at the Chandler Ranch shopping center, located at the northeast corner of Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard. A grand opening event will be held on Saturday, March 4, and Sunday, March 5. The first 100 customers each day who spend at least $30 will receive goodie bags.

NewQuest Properties purchased the 117,000-square-foot Chandler Ranch shopping center in 2019 and repositioned it to be an Asian-centric shopping and dining destination. The shopping center is anchored by 99 Ranch Market and also includes Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, 85° C Bakery Café, Somisomi Soft Serve, and other Pan-Asian tenants. New locations for The Kickin' Crab and Gen Korean BBQ are expected to open later this year.
