The Florida Trail Association is seeking passionate individuals from all walks of life to join our Board of Directors. Our current board is filled with dedicated members with extensive hiking and trail maintenance experience, deep involvement in our chapters, and a long history of supporting the association. Now, we’re eager to bring in new skills and perspectives that will help us grow and connect with even more communities.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in areas like land acquisition, government relations, community outreach, networking, event planning, legal expertise, and historical or cultural knowledge. We also welcome skills we may not have listed here that could add to our work and help make the Florida Trail a welcoming space for all.
While membership is required to serve on the board, extensive experience with the Florida Trail Association is not. New voices and fresh ideas are highly valued. Board service does involve a time commitment, but most meetings are virtual, with only a few in-person gatherings each year—and an option to join virtually for those as well. We want this role to be accessible to all passionate applicants, regardless of travel constraints.
