Chamber Connection
February 2023
| |
I love my work so much that I often catch myself declaring: “This is the best part of my job!” — when a small business gets a new contract, or when a corporate partner hires an LGBTQ+ candidate at a job fair, or when we have a win in supplier diversity, or any other number of occasions when good things happen. Yet, as I sit and reflect on what is truly my favorite part of this job, it is being in a community with so many intersectional LGBTQ+ people. We are a community of all shapes, colors, sizes, identities, and lived experiences, bound as family by our LGBTQ+ identity and our shared joys and struggles.
As we close out Black History Month, I want to recognize the Black-owned businesses that make up 10% of our membership! I have been witness to the amazing products, services, and contributions offered by this part of our Chamber; please support them by buying from a Black-owned business whenever you can!
Our community is strong and thriving because of the many ways we show up for ourselves, each other, and the rest of society. Let’s finish out the first quarter of 2023 strong this March!
Proudly,
Grace R. Moreno
Executive Director
