Lilly Endowment Inc. announces Storytelling Initiative

Lilly Endowment Inc. has announced its new National Storytelling Initiative on Christian Faith and Life. In this open and competitive initiative, the Endowment invites charitable organizations to submit concept papers on potential projects that identify, produce and share stories about Christian individuals, groups, churches, and communities. The Endowment anticipates awarding grants that range up to $5 million each to up to 30 charitable organizations to develop and implement high-quality storytelling projects. Concept papers must be submitted through the online application form by February 24, 2025. Learn more and apply.

Large-scale Collaboration Grants

Register for either Session 1: Thursday, January 23, 3–4 p.m. ET, or Session 2: Friday, January 31, 12–1 p.m. ET. Leaders from ATS-accredited schools and collaborating partners considering concept papers for Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Pathways for Tomorrow large-scale collaborative grants are encouraged to attend.

 

Individual School Grants

ATS-accredited theological schools that did NOT receive a Phase 2 grant in the previous round of Pathways are eligible for this new round. Register for either Session 1: Friday, January 10, 12–1 p.m. ET, or Session 2: Tuesday, January 14, 2–3 p.m. ET. Leaders from eligible ATS schools considering applying for Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Pathways for Tomorrow individual school grants are encouraged to attend.

ATFE to host Biennial Consultation

The Association of Theological Field Educators (ATFE) is hosting its Biennial Consultation January 2224, 2025 at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO. The year’s gathering focuses on the theme “The Land Holds Memory” and will look at the connection between land, formation, and ministry. Learn more and register.

Ackerman Institute offers new certificate program

Starting September 2025, the Ackerman Institute for the Family's one-year, Faith-Based Couple and Family Therapy Certificate will provide knowledge of couple and family systems theory and therapy with direct application to faith-based functioning and practice. This program is designed to enhance the skills of faith-based leaders in providing guidance and support to individuals, couples, and families experiencing problems. Apply and take advantage of the application fee waiver.

2025 Congregational Leaders Workshop seeks proposals

The 2025 Congregational Leaders Workshop seeks workshop proposals for its event taking place February 2527, 2025, at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. The Congregational Leaders Workshop is a fully-funded workshop for clergy and religious leaders (including seminary students). It aims to gather a diverse group of participants who seek to learn more about the Holocaust and how Jews and Christians approach the study and memory of the Holocaust today. Workshop proposals must be submitted by Monday, December 23. Learn more and apply.
