For a good example of civil discourse from opposite sides of a spectrum, listen to this replay of a session featuring Sally Kohn and Erick Erickson.

An interesting observation: neither Ms. Kohn nor Mr. Erickson fully typifies the full spectrum of all progressives or all conservatives. Neither group is monolithic and these categories include a wide range of beliefs. You may disagree with either or both of them! The point is the level of calm and mutual respect that they bring to the engagement.
