Toys for Township Tots

As the festive season draws near, we at Lake Villa Township are excited to announce our annual initiative, "Toys for Township Tots." In just a week, we will be distributing holiday meals to our less fortunate neighbors, ensuring that everyone in our community can enjoy a warm and joyful Christmas celebration. This year, we are again committed to providing gifts for the children in our area, particularly those who may have little to find under their Christmas tree.

Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, the response to our Toys for Township Tots initiative has been overwhelming. We are thrilled to report that we have gathered a plentiful supply of gifts for all the children who have signed up to receive them. However, we recognize that there are still many more children within our community who could benefit from an extra gift this Christmas.

If you know of any child or family in need of a little extra support this holiday season, we encourage you to reach out to us. Please let us know, or have them contact us directly at Lake Villa Township by calling 847-356-2116. Together, we can ensure that every child experiences the joy of receiving a gift this Christmas, helping to make their holiday season a little brighter. Thank you for your continued support and for helping us spread holiday cheer!

Thank you, Daniel Venturi, the Lake Villa Township Board, and all our dedicated staff members.

Leaf Collection Continues

until it snows

The Township has announced that the leaf collection program along its maintained roadways will proceed until the onset of significant snowfall. During the recent Township Board meeting, Highway Commissioner Jim Jorgensen confirmed that both the Fall Leaf Collection and tree branch collection initiatives will remain in effect until the first major snow event. Residents are kindly requested to pile their leaves no more than four feet from the edge of the roadway, as this is the maximum distance that the vacuum equipment can effectively reach. The Township appreciates the community's understanding and cooperation, especially considering that only one truck is available to service approximately 60 miles of roadway—a task typically requiring two weeks or more to complete. Furthermore, it is important to note that leaf pickups cannot be conducted on state or county roads. The Township expresses its gratitude for the patience and support of its residents during this operational period.

Sincerely,

Jim Jorgensen.
