The Power of The Disability Vote

People with disabilities are a powerful force in our democratic system! And when government policies and systems impact daily living across the disability community, it is vital to exercise the right to vote. This storytelling TALKS series, The Power of the Disability Vote is a call to action!

 

People with all types of disabilities can vote! People with intellectual/developmental disabilities can vote (even with a guardian, in Colorado)! And, those who support people with disabilities can help. Be the change you want to see and learn how we can make the disability community’s voice heard!

Use this simplified training to unlock the power of your vote, so you can show up to the polls with confidence!


The Elections Basics course is only 30 minutes long and takes all the complicated parts of a United States election and makes them simple, with a focus on accessibility for people with disabilities. Plus, the entire course includes American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation!

This plain-language ballot breakdown is a non-partisan guide to help you understand the issues up for vote this year on the Colorado ballot. Remember that, as an American, you have the right to vote and, in Colorado, Guardianship does NOT remove your right to vote. So, use this guide to help you be an educated voter and make your voice heard!
