OUTREACH

The Food Bank is in great need of food items, paper goods, and toiletries for our neighbors in Somerset County. We especially want to focus on personal items and cleaning products, such as toothpaste, feminine products, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. Cash and checks are also greatly appreciated. There’s always a container on the stairs leading up to the choir loft.

St. Martin’s will collect styrofoam until the end of September, perhaps longer. It will go to a business in Somerville which makes it into molding for cruise ships.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Kathy Shanklin.

WOMEN'S GROUP

The St. Martin's Women's Group does fun things together. Below are some of the upcoming events.

October: Brunch in Somerville

November: Sip & Paint with Lani

December: Papermill Playhouse "White Christmas" with Christmas Dinner

January: Cooking Class at Natirar

Are you interested in joining us? Email Alison.

FALL FAMILY FESTIVAL

Our fall family festival will be on October 26th from 1 to 3 p.m. Again, we are partnering with St. Martin's School to make this a fun day for all. We will need volunteers to oversee the games, give out food, and decorate their cars for Trunk or Treat. The school is providing the crafts. There is a sign-up sheet below.

EVANGELISM COMMITTEE

We are looking for greeters to welcome new attendees at our Sunday services. If you volunteer, you will be scheduled to serve only once a month. Please contact Fr. Rob or Yvonne Comeau if you are interested.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH

You are always welcome to worship at St Martin's and participate in service and fellowship activities, regardless of your membership status. We are thrilled to have you in our community. But sometimes people want to go deeper and become a full member of St Martin's and the Episcopal Church. One becomes a full member through the Sacrament of Confirmation- or if you have already been confirmed in a church with apostolic succession (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or ELCA), by the rite of Reception into the Episcopal Church with the Laying on of Hands by the Bishop. Confirmation and Reception by the Bishop makes you a member of the Episcopal Church and allows you to serve on the Vestry (which is the lay leadership board for the parish in the Episcopal Church.)

If you are interested in becoming a full member of the parish and of the Episcopal Church, please ask Father Rob for more information.

CRUCIFERS AND LAY READERS NEEDED

We need people to serve as Crucifer and Lay Reader at the 10:30 Mass.

Adults and youth rising 7th graders and above are welcome to serve as Crucifer.

Adults and youth rising 9th graders and above are welcome to serve as Lay Readers.

Please let Father Rob know if you are interested in serving. A training session will be held in late August.
