What's Cool in Our Schools

Seminole High School Aviation Students Receive Real-World Flight Training

Students from Seminole High School's Aviation Program geared up for an exciting opportunity as they went through preflight briefings and inspection training. This preparation is in anticipation of their upcoming discovery flights, where they will experience real-world flight training.

The sessions will be conducted by Certified Flight Instructors from the Sanford Flying Club at the Sanford International Airport. This hands-on experience aims to provide the students with invaluable insights into the world of aviation.

Winter Springs High Students Inspire Young Minds

Students in the Principles of Public Service Teaching class at Winter Springs High School took the lead, working together to teach and assist elementary students in a hands-on learning experience. This collaborative effort showcased the dedication and teamwork of Winter Springs students and the importance of Public Service. Fantastic work, Go Bears!

Student Leads Community Effort to Beautify Evans Elementary School

Jackson Long, a student at Hagerty High School, and the son of Evans Elementary teacher Mrs. Long, chose Evans Elementary for his Eagle Scout Project. To fund the project, Jackson organized a car wash, successfully raising the necessary funds to revamp the landscaping along the school’s front entrance. Over Thanksgiving break, Jackson enlisted the help of family and friends to complete the project.

The results have been met with enthusiasm and appreciation. The staff, teachers, and students at Evans Elementary are delighted with the newly landscaped walkway, which has significantly improved the school’s appearance.

This project is a testament to the power of community effort, proving that it truly takes a village to make a difference. Thank you, Jackson, for your leadership and community spirit!
