Gather is Vermont Humanities Council’s featured title for the Vermont Reads program.

We are pleased to welcome Ham Gillett back to share the lyrical words of Dylan Thomas on Saturday, December 14, at noon and again at 1 pm. The Welch poet looks back with a child’s-eye view of a magical time of presents, family, and newly fallen snow in the seasonal classic A Child’s Christmas in Wales, written in the early 1950s. (Despite the essay’s title, this reading is geared toward listeners 10 and older.)

Wrensong presents "Songs of the Season" on Saturday, December 14 at 3 pm, following the Wassail Parade. An a capella choral group from Vermont's Upper Valley, Wrensong focuses on the vocal treasures of the Renaissance. The singers will offer a mix of songs – some simple, some familiar, some more complex, and some sing-along.

Thanks for all of you who have responded favorably to NWPL’s Annual Appeal! The library receives only about a third of its funding from the town. We rely on your generous donations to continue to offer a robust collection of books, entertaining and educational programs, and a broad range of services to the community, all free of charge.

With the winter holidays come calendar adjustments: early closings, program schedule changes, extended hours, and special events. Changes are noted in the descriptions here and on our website. If the weather is stormy enough to prevent the library from opening our regular hours, we will post updates on our website, NormanWilliams.org, and via social media, Facebook and Instagram.
Hope to see you at the library soon!

The Family Star
A Memoir in Poellages & Other Images
Heather Wishik
November 1 - December 30
A collective of Spanish artists in Barcelona developed the term “poellage” in 1916, to describe “the fusion of words and paper through the collage technique.” Heather Wishik uses the term to describe works that combine the poems and collages she has assembled into a memoir titled "The Family Star."

NWPL Bag Mobile
Sometimes mobility issues and transportation challenges make it hard to get to the library.
Enter the Bag Mobile! We are happy to fill a special tote bag with your choice of books. This may be picked up at the library by a caregiver or friend.
We now have a regular off-site delivery service to The Homestead, Melishwood, and Woodstock Terrace for patrons who request it. Currently, we pick up and deliver items weekly, on Tuesday afternoons. We will do our best to accommodate requests outside of those locations if you cannot send someone to pick up the Bag Mobile at NWPL.
