The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them, a light has shined.

Isaiah 9:2

We don't have to look very far to see darkness in this world. Though once full of beauty, light, and goodness, deception and sin entered the heart of man. This resulted in selfish and unloving humans. Caring only about our own comfort and progress, people tend to produce war, pain, and destruction. But thanks be to God, this is not the way things were left. God sent His only Son into this world to shine heavens' spotlight into our world and into our hearts. What would happen if we allowed God to shine His light of love and truth in our own life? Together, we can all hold a reflection of His light, causing it to burn brightly in our home, our communities, and into all the world.

Camp Deerpark would like to celebrate the coming of Jesus with your this advent season! Each day until Christmas, we'll send out a photo, verse, and short devotional. If you're not on the list, you can sign up here or check an archive of previous days. If you feel inspired, please share this with a friend or family member.
