Shop, Dine, and Buy Local at Kokua Kailua
Are you ready to spend a picture-perfect Sunday afternoon at Kokua Kailua with local vendors, artists, ono food and musicians in Historic Kailua Village? This Sunday, September 17, Alii Drive is the place to be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm for a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor marketplace that makes for a great family-friendly experience. Bring your leashed dogs too.

The free event is presented by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District.
Street Eats—A Kailua Village Food Truck Festival
Calling all Hawaii Island food trucks and food vendors! 
 
Street Eats will take over Historic Kailua Village and fill the Village with wafting aromas of savory goodness from new and mainstay trucks, food carts and local restaurant pop-ups. Your culinary creations will be the inspiration to satisfy the cravings of community residents and visitors. There will be Hawaiian entertainment and Hula Halau throughout the day too.

Historic Kailua Village, on Ali’i Drive from Hualalai Road to Palani Road (across from Kailua Pier)

2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship Returns in October
The VinFast Ironman World Championship returns to Kona next month and takes place on Saturday, October 14. 2023. The first-ever all women’s race will see over 2,200 women athletes embark on a 140.6-mile journey that starts in Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi, representing the ultimate test of body, mind, and spirit

Athletes from 92 countries around the globe attended last year’s event. Last year’s event (2-days of racing) showed an economic impact to Hawaii Island of over $72 million. The athletes stayed 15 days on Hawaii Island with the athletes and their companions spending over $300 per person per day.

The VinFast Ironman World Championship event went viral globally with over 19 million video views, 45 million impressions and 3.6 million people engaging on the Ironman website.
